Growing Up with Kameleon

Adjustability plays a key role in children’s wheelchairs.

There are two seat sizes, which cover seat widths from from 250 to 400 mm, to fit users between approximately 3 and 12 years old. It is one of the most cost effective pediatric chairs on the market.

Kameleon’s unique backrest can accommodate up to six independently adjustable
backrest panels. The panels come in two sizes and offer precise control of the backrest’s overall height, width, and even shape.

Power Positioning Functions

300 mm Power Lift

Every child should have the power lifting function built into their power chair. It allows kids to have eye-level interactions with their peers, which is crucial to develop self-confidence.

Allows users to reach new heights, encouraging independence, and facilitating social interaction.

45° Power Tilt

Enables users to change their position by themselves and shift the weight from their buttocks to their back, to maintain posture and relieve pressure.

This feature also aids stability and good posture while driving, making the ride safer and more comfortable.

130° Biomechanical Power / Manual Recline

Reduces shear forces to ensure user support and stability throughout the reclining process.

140° Biomechanical Power / Manual Elevating Legrests

Extend when elevating to match the natural extension of the leg, preventing compression for guaranteed comfort. The legrests also offer length, knee angle, and footplate angle adjustability.

“ The design concept behind the cushions is Lego bricks. One day I saw therapists using towels to stack on the chair. I started to think about why towels are needed to achieve the right seating position? With the team, we decided to design a seat that has a built-in supporting system that could build like Legos. “

Sit Stable, Sit Right

The adjustable seat pan allows the user to set the hip abduction angle, while optional seat wedges create a customized seating surface to maximize user support and stability.

The abducted seating of the Kameleon was designed to help children to support their legs and remain in this natural sitting position.

Customize Configured Seat Wedge

Every child has different ways of sitting. Which is why the Kameleon seat pan is designed to accommodate any customized seat wedge that a therapist might recommend to the user. By inserting wedges under the cushion of the Kameleon, the therapist can trial and error until finding the right one for the child.
